Doc for a Day

Our school was lucky enough to be selected to participate in the the Docs for a Day program.  On Wednesday 3rd August our Grade 5 and 6 students visited the Royal Hobart Hospital.  The students dressed in surgeon's gowns, shoes and hair nets to participate in some role-play followed by a tour of an operating theatre, x-ray clinic, and other facilities.   The experience is designed to give children contact with the hospital in a non-threatening and educational manner as well as highlighting some of the health effects of smoking.  Students had an informative day.
